All that jam!

My daughter needed some gifts for the people at work and asked me for some thoughts.  Candy Apple Jelly is always a great Christmasy present.
Here is the recipe:
Candy Apple Jelly
4 cups apple juice
1/2 cup red-hot candies
1 (1.75ounce) package powdered fruit pectin
4 1/2 cups sugar
Directions:
In a large kettle combine apple juice, candies and pectin.  Bring to a full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly.  stir in sugar, return to a full rolling boil.  boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.  remove from the heat, skim off any foam and undissolved candies.  Pour hot liquid into hot jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace. Adjust caps.  Process for 5 minutes in a boiling water bath at altitudes up to 1000 ft.

We then made Huckleberry Jam and put it in short, squaty jars.  Stacked them and wrapped them in cellophane.  Tied up the whole thing with a pretty bow, and Wa La!, a nice co-worker gift!

Cartoons!

On facebook recently, it is being passed around to post your favorite cartoon character.  Mine as a child was Pepe Le Pew.  I used to love getting up on Saturday morning and watch 'Pepe' try and win the affections of his love interest!  I am going to try and watch a  cartoon this week to help me to remember that life is not to be taken to seriously!

Family Home Evening Blocks!

I am not really sure what I am doing--but here goes.  Here are the FHE blocks that I designed after a Super Saturday disaster happened to the "old blocks" I designed.
Here is the short version of the disaster--somebody put white paint in the Modge Podge!
(Funny now, not so much then).  I didn't take a picture of the first version, but after sanding all the old paint, paper, and modge podge, off of the blocks and redesigning , repainting, repapering, and re-mondge podging...TaDa...here is the result.  Pretty cute, if I do say so myself!
